LCC Advances to the CIF Finals

The Mavericks are headed to the CIF Finals.

After an intense semifinal battle against Cathedral Catholic, LCC came through when it mattered most, pulling away late to secure a huge 9–6 victory and punch their ticket to the championship game.

Now, the biggest game of the season awaits.

LCC will face defending champions Torrey Pines this Friday, May 15 at 7:00 PM at Patrick Henry High School in what promises to be an electric matchup between two elite programs. Both teams have battled all season to get here, and with a CIF title on the line, expect a fast, physical, high-energy game from start to finish.

The boys are fired up for the opportunity and ready to leave everything on the field.

This is the moment the team has worked for all year.

Teacher Appreciation Night Was One to Remember

Teacher Appreciation Night turned out to be one of the most meaningful events of the season.

Each LCC athlete invited one of their favorite teachers to the game and took time to recognize them with a personal note explaining why they were chosen and the impact they’ve had. Players and teachers also took photos together, which were displayed on the big screen throughout the night alongside the players’ messages.

And honestly? It was awesome.

From heartfelt thank-yous to funny memories and stories, the quotes gave everyone a chance to see just how much these teachers mean to our athletes beyond the classroom. Fans loved seeing the photos and messages throughout the game, and there were plenty of smiles—and a few emotional moments too.

The night was a powerful reminder that great teams are built by more than coaches and players. Teachers play a huge role in shaping these student-athletes every single day, and it meant a lot to be able to celebrate them in front of the entire LCC community.

A huge thank you to all the teachers who continue to support, encourage, and inspire our players. The night was for you.

LCC Advances to CIF Semifinals

The Mavericks are moving on.

After a quarterfinal win, LCC has officially advanced to the CIF Semifinals, where they’ll face a familiar rival: Cathedral Catholic.

The semifinal matchup is set for Tuesday, May 12 at Cathedral Catholic High School, and it has all the makings of an instant classic. Both teams have played outstanding lacrosse all season and know each other well. When two competitive programs like this meet in the playoffs, you can expect intensity from the opening faceoff to the final whistle.

LCC dropped the regular season matchup against Cathedral earlier this year—but that loss has only added fuel to the fire. The Mavericks are locked in, motivated, and determined to flip the script with a trip to the CIF Championship on the line.

And it’s not just playoff lacrosse—it’s also Teacher Night.

Our players will be inviting the teachers who’ve made a difference along the way, recognizing the people who’ve supported them beyond the field. It’s always a special part of the night—and a reminder that this program is bigger than just the game.

Then the focus shifts back to business.
